What we collect, and what we don’t.

• Account: an identifier, the username and display name you choose. If you sign in with Google or email, the associated address too. We do not request your email address when you use Sign in with Apple.
• What you watch: shows, films, watched episodes, ratings, watchlist, watch dates and the platform used when you choose to add it.
• What you publish: reviews, comments, GIFs, biography, list names, profile picture and notes added to reports.
• GIF searches: words entered in the GIF picker are sent to Klipy to return results.
• Social activity: people you follow and likes you leave.
• Notifications: the token supplied by Apple, app language and time zone, used to deliver enabled notifications at the right time and in the right language.
• Diagnostics: crashes, performance, daily app opens and interface stalls, together with app version, build, iOS version and device model. These records are account-linked so we can distinguish one repeated issue from a widespread one and are retained for six months.

We use this data to provide the app, sync your library, personalise Up Next and suggestions, deliver requested notifications, protect the community, diagnose problems and measure aggregate app opens and retention.

• Performance of the contract: your account, library, published content, sync and the release notifications you request — what it takes to provide Showries to you.
• Consent: server-side announcements and other optional communications. You can withdraw it at any time in Settings, with no effect on the rest of the service.
• Legitimate interest: security, abuse prevention, report handling and diagnostics, to the extent needed to keep Showries working and the community safe.

• No third-party advertising and no advertising SDKs.
• No tracking across other apps or websites and no use of IDFA.
• No sale of data or sharing for third-party advertising.
• We do not read contacts or location. For photos, we only access what you choose for your profile and save the stories you create.

Notifications are split into two categories.

• Releases: episodes from shows you follow and films in your watchlist. These are scheduled on your device and follow your choices in Settings → Notifications.
• Announcements: nominations, awards, events and Showries news. These come from our server, stay off until you opt in and can be disabled at any time in Settings → Announcements.

Primary data is hosted by Supabase on servers in the European Union.

• TMDB supplies film and TV metadata. Requests pass through the Showries server.
• Klipy receives words searched in the GIF picker and a pseudonymous code that does not directly identify your account.
• Google handles the information needed only when you choose to sign in with Google.
• Apple handles Sign in with Apple and notification delivery to your devices.
• Instagram and TikTok receive content you choose to share only when you start that sharing action.

Your account, library and content stay for as long as the account exists: deleting the account removes them. Diagnostics are retained for six months; reports for as long as needed to handle them and document moderation decisions.

Primary data stays on servers in the European Union. Some providers (Apple, Google, Klipy, Instagram and TikTok) may also process data outside the European Economic Area: where that happens, the transfer is covered by the safeguards provided by the GDPR, such as standard contractual clauses.

Your full library is not freely browsable by other users. The feed may show that you watched, rated or added a title — without the rating value — together with your username, profile picture and comments; the star rating is, however, visible next to the reviews you publish. With a private profile, your activity is visible only to followers you approve.

Go to Profile → Edit profile → Export my data to obtain a JSON file with your library, progress, ratings, reviews, comments and follows.

You can start account deletion from Profile → Edit profile → Delete account. For questions about the outcome or associated data, write to hello@showries.com.

Under the GDPR you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability and objection, plus the right to withdraw any consent you gave. Many of them can be exercised directly in the app (Export my data, Delete account, notification Settings); for everything else, write to hello@showries.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority (Garante) or your local supervisory authority.

The public website code contains no analytics, advertising pixels, profiling forms or marketing cookies. The only form is the Beta page waitlist: the email address and language you submit join the invite list (on Supabase, servers in the European Union) and are used solely for the confirmation email and the TestFlight invite; to leave the list, just reply to the confirmation email. Links to the App Store and social profiles lead to external services governed by their own privacy notices.

Showries is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
